PRIMOAMORE

ABOUT US.

Primoamore has chosen two cherished locations to create its timelessly genuine products. One is Chiaramonte Gulfi, a town whose soil and climate characteristics produce an olive variety appreciated worldwide; the other is Pettineo, a town in the Messina area known for its centuries-old olive trees and characteristic dry-farmed lemons.

Two different realities with a common denominator:

Primoamore quality.

TERRITORY

15 km from Ragusa, in an area extending from the Iblei Mountains to the Vittoria plain, lies the so-called “Balcony of Sicily”, the town of Chiaramonte Gulfi, from which one can enjoy a truly exceptional panorama.

Its territory is particularly rich in olive groves, producing an extra virgin olive oil of excellent quality recognized worldwide and protected and guaranteed by the D.O.P. Monti Iblei Consortium. This is a product of fine characteristics that has won numerous international awards, establishing itself as one of the best oils in the world.

Between the slopes of the Madonie and the Nebrodi, bordered by two parks that take their names from these mountains, lies a landscape where the Mediterranean maquis bursts into an explosion of scents, colors, and variety. In these places, history and nature merge in a combination that captivates any visitor. Here is located the town of Pettineo, where the air carries a sense of both past and present, and where you can stroll through the streets to admire centuries-old olive trees of prestigious varieties. Among them stands one particularly noteworthy tree, which at the venerable age of 1,800 years is one of the oldest in the Mediterranean.

“Already Sicily was rising like a cloud on the edge of the horizon. Then, all at once, Mount Etna burst into gold and rubies, and the whitish coast was torn here and there into dark bays and promontories.”

Giovanni Verga

HARVESTING

Harvesting is a crucial moment in the production of quality olive oil. Choosing the right time and employing proper olive harvesting methods significantly contributes to obtaining an extra virgin olive oil with optimal characteristics in terms of yield and quality. No more than 12 hours should pass from the time of harvest to the milling.

FRANTOIRE

After being defoliated and washed, the olives are ready for the mill. Their cold extraction is carried out at a temperature never exceeding 27°C, using cutting-edge techniques that preserve all the characteristics of the olives and yield a high-quality product.
